Inspired by AyeMin, a friend of my son Alexander, I challenged myself to combine purple with yellow. This combination is even more outside of my comfort zone than adding or working with just yellow on its own. But try I must to change my mind away from my standard colour combinations of choice. And who better to learn from than the trained eye of a designer.
I begin to pay attention to what is in front of me. On a walk this morning I spotted an incredible lilac tree in full bloom. Beneath the tree, in clusters, I eyed the lowly dandelion, beginning their spring surge to occupy every inch of green. Purple lilacs and yellow dandelions? Hmm? An odd combination for sure but they accomplish the visual effect of working with colour and beginning to understand how to use it creatively.
